Chocolate ART has been a creator of unique wedding cakes for over 14 years. Surrounded by the stunning views of Matlock in Derbyshire, chocolate wedding cakes are designed, crafted and created by hand in the infamous 'chocolate studio'.

Situated in the middle of the 'helter skelter' Riber Road, the Chocolate ART cottage offers wedding couples the chance to have a unique handmade wedding cake, suitable for all budgets. A melt in the mouth chocolate torte is created incorporating only the finest chocolate from Belgium, locally produced ingredients and no artificial colours or flavourings.

Beginning with a personal consultation viewing the 'chocolate studio', couples are invited to try samples and discuss their ideal cake, browsing photographs or chatting over their own designs; not to mention viewing the example cakes of previous work on display. If you cannot decide, there is no pressure as final designs are not required until 4-6 weeks before the wedding, meaning alterations to initial ideas can also be made before that date.

With not only a vast array of individualised styles and sculptures, couples also have the option of personalised chocolate favours, including hand-made chocolates and place settings.

For something different – why not come and make your own chocolate favours? Bring your chief bridesmaid or best man and have a real talking point on your big day.


Dietary requirements are also catered for, with gluten and dairy free options available. No nuts are included in any cake recipes however, products are created in a room where nuts are handled.

The journey begins with sourcing the finest cocoa from around the world. The beans are harvested - the fermentation, drying & preserving process happen at source, then shipped to Belgium where they are being roasted, ground, mixed, conched and refined into chocolate, which then finds its way to the bottom of our hill. In winter this proves interesting and involves bringing the chocolate up by sledge! The chocolate is then melted in a melting kettle and hand tempered on a granite table before sec ret ingredients are added. Hand crafted designs mean each cake differs from the mainstream, by being truly unique. Each new idea is designed, developed and refined to deliver the perfect result for your occasion. After creation, delivery to your venue is available across mainland U.K. Venues are informed of how best to look after your cake and cutting instructions given, leaving you to enjoy your day.

Chocolate ART not only specialises in wedding cakes - birthdays, anniversaries, new babies, dinner parties and chocoholics are also catered for.
